The Sidewinder Mk III

The current version of our Sidewinder features yet another new engine, this time a 450cc twin air-cooled engine off a Suzuki road bike that boasts much better low-end torque, lighter weight and smaller size than the 4 cylinder Kawasaki and being of an older vintage insn't nearly as picky regarding air or fuel flow. It's definitely the pick of the bunch so far. We've found it is now as agile as we hoped in the sand dunes and has proved to be very reliable. Getting up into sixth gear isn't a problem and the engine just keeps on delivering nice strong smooth power.

Other extra features we added this time include:

• Small auxilliary fuel tank above the engine with an overflow fuel line back to the main tank to provide a constant gravity fed fuel flow to the engine
• Neutral indicator light and oil indicator light on the dashboard
• Numeric illuminated gear indicator (from 1-6) on the dashboard
• Twin Chrome mufflers angled up on either side of the rear
• Electric Cooling Fan to keep the engine cool despite the extra work we demand of it
